It is smooth, continuous (no knots--very important), and a good length for this age of child.We have the book String Games, which has great directions for Cat's Cradle.We have an older version, which came as a kit with strings. This string goes really well with the book, String Games.My kids have entertained themselves for days on end with this string. This string, plus String Games book, would make a great gift for kids age 7-10.
